Welcome to the

Computational Cardiology Lab

Mission Statement: Research of the CCL is organized along three major lines, methods-driven research focusing on the development of in silico models of total heart function, applied basic research centered around the use of models for analyzing multiscale-multiphysics mechanisms underlying cardiac function in health and disease, and translational research to leverage computational models of the heart as both an industrial medical device development tool (MDDT) for the design and optimization of cardiac devices as well as using software as a medical device (SaMD) for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in the clinic.

Our research is multidisciplinary, combining advances from diverse fields such as cardiology (cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure and therapies), biomedical engineering sciences (model building, medical image analysis and mapping techniques) as well as mathematics (numerical methods and scientific computing).
